I figured a blog post introducing myself would be a good way to start off. My name is Silvana McDevitt, and I have been a student at SCF since January of 2013. I want to get my Associate in Arts degree at SCF, and I plan on majoring in psychology at USF. I lived in Peru for five years, so I am fluent in Spanish. I graduated at sixteen in December 2012, and I decided to get a jump start by going into college right away. I try to visit Peru as often as I can because I have close friends and family there.
Now, I’ll talk a little bit about my personality. I’m pretty nice, in my opinion. I love talking to people, and it can be hard to make me be quiet. My sense of humor can be pretty sarcastic. I try to be very relaxed about things I can’t control. I think that if something is supposed to happen, it will. If something is within my control, then I will work hard to obtain it. I like to surround myself with clever, kind people with a good sense of humor.
One of my strengths is that I am a quick learner. I grasp concepts quickly because I don’t have the patience to dwell on one subject for very long. One of my weaknesses is speaking in public. Actually, scratch that; doing anything in front of a crowd makes me nervous. My knees start to wobble, and I start to talk really fast. It’s not a pretty sight.
Something I love to do is try new foods. I also love watching horror movies, and I spend most of my free time doing that. I also like to read in my free time. Some of my favorite authors are Edgar Allen Poe, Victor Hugo, and Stephen King. I like to listen to different kinds of music, and what I listen to depends on my mood.
Holy writer’s block batman, it’s hard to make a whole blog post about yourself. I think that I have mentioned the most important details about myself…Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great day, and I will talk to everyone soon.
